This track took me about 2 months to perform. Couldn’t stop crying after the first stanza… eventually, I feel like I was able to become a conduit for this message. I hope I was able to provide an acceptable rendition for such a powerful performance.

Lately I’ve been taking a hard look at what it really takes to perform at the level I expect of myself. For my set to feel authentic, expressive, and truly locked-in, I realistically need 8+ hours of focused practice a day. At the same time, I’m still building the business and publishing infrastructure that supports not only my own work, but the artists I care about — and that piece alone often demands 12+ hours a day.

Trying to operate at full speed on both fronts isn’t sustainable, and I don’t want the quality of either to suffer. So I’ll be slowing my release cadence to about one-third of what it’s been. Less output — but deeper, more intentional work. I’d rather stand behind work that reflects true craftsmanship and the standard I hold myself to than push content just to stay visible.

On the publishing side, I’m continuing to lean into what I believe in: transparency, artist education, and protecting creative work the right way. If you’re a professional musician who values that kind of relationship with your publisher, consider this an open invitation. I’ll be taking on five additional clients this year while I continue developing training and systems so my team can eventually scale without losing the human side of the work.

But either way, it’s definitely a form of channeling. Prince, MJ, Cash, everyone talked about how the song was never theirs really but for that moment it was created through them.

That feeling when you first meet “The One” when #TheRush is so overwhelming that you can’t imagine a life without them. I wrote this song about a year ago after I broke up with my ex. She taught me a lot about life vs work and I’ll always be #thankful for what she taught me.

I was practicing a bit, seeing what I could channel that night, and I must’ve had some #romantic energy cuz my go-to practice piece ended up sounding like the Tango to me 😅 You can tell I was unsure of which chord to play next as I fumbled over the keys but in the end I was like “f’it. Ima just see what happens” 🤣

I wonder what @daveghrol would think of it? 🤔
